📌 Position Overview
HCL Technologies is looking for a Software Engineer I with expertise in BigFix and infrastructure automation. This opportunity is ideal for candidates interested in enterprise automation, patch management, compliance, and large-scale IT operations.
The selected candidate will be responsible for designing automation solutions, managing BigFix implementations, and supporting infrastructure operations across enterprise environments.
🔧 Key Responsibilities
Design technical solutions to address client infrastructure and operational challenges.
Manage and support complex Proof of Concept (PoC) environments.
Customize BigFix deployments as per business and technical requirements.
Build scalable, highly available (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) architectures for BigFix.
Automate infrastructure operations to reduce manual efforts.
Perform patch management across Windows, Linux, and UNIX systems.
Conduct system assessments and implement automation strategies.
Support compliance and vulnerability management initiatives.
Assist in server build, provisioning, and hardening activities.
Contribute to custom software deployment and release lifecycle processes.
🎓 Eligibility Criteria
Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) / Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.)
0–2.5 years of relevant experience in infrastructure automation or system management
⭐ Required Skills & Technical Expertise
Hands-on experience with IBM BigFix / HCL BigFix (HCL Automation Suite)
Infrastructure management from implementation to operational support
Patch management for Windows, Linux, and UNIX platforms
Configuration management including reporting and change tracking
Knowledge of DevOps tools such as Puppet, Chef, and Ansible
Familiarity with system management and security tools (BladeLogic, HP SA, etc.)
Scripting skills (Bash, custom relevance scripting, etc.)
Basic SQL knowledge and ability to write simple queries
Understanding of Active Directory and Windows Server environments
Working knowledge of UNIX/Linux systems
Awareness of CMDB and ITSM concepts
Understanding of IT security principles and enterprise operational challenges
Knowledge of IaaS, SaaS, and PaaS models
