Roles and Responsibilities: 

A candidate in this role will be responsible for enhancing PTC customers’ success by offering technical expertise and knowledge to help them achieve their business goals using PTC software. As a part of the highly skilled and dynamic Windchill PLM support team based in Pune, India, A candidate  will support customers across Asia. A candidate’s  main focus should be on delivering technical solutions and assisting customers in developing top-quality products while maximizing the benefits of PLM solutions.

A important responsibility of this position involves providing support services to help customers and field staff configure and troubleshoot installation and functionality issues related to Windchill products. By understanding customer concerns, having in-depth knowledge of PTC products, and following support service processes, a candidate must ensure customer satisfaction through effective problem resolution.

Developing expertise in Windchill installation and troubleshooting functionality issues is an important aspect of this position. A candidate will contribute to the growth of the PTC Knowledgebase by continuously updating and evolving it with new solutions.

Additionally, A candidate will be creating software configurations, replicating issues, troubleshooting technical problems, investigating root causes, and tracking resolutions. This includes collaborating with various PTC departments such as Research & Development (R&D) and Quality Assurance (QA). Effective communication with customers regarding problem resolution is also necessary aspect of the job.

Continuous professional development is encouraged, and a candidate may also take on occasional mentoring or teaching responsibilities for other team members as they gain more experience. A candidate for this role should possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Electronics & Telecommunication (E&TC). A Master’s in Computer Applications (MCA) is also allowed. A candidate with up to two years of experience in Windchill functionality and configuration, as well as fresh graduates, are encouraged to apply.

A fundamental understanding of Java and database management is mandatory for this role. The ability to work with Java-based applications and database systems will be highly beneficial in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues. Strong written and verbal communication skills are needed to effectively interact with customers, colleagues, and technical teams.

A candidate should have familiarity with Unix and Windows operating systems at a user level, along with basic system administration knowledge. A basic understanding of networking concepts is considered an added advantage and will assist in resolving technical issues related to system connectivity.

Additionally, professional certifications can enhance the candidate’s profile. Certifications such as Oracle Certified Java Programmer (SCJP) or Oracle Certified Database Administrator (DBA) will provide an plus point and demonstrate expertise in the respective fields.
