Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated Associate Engineer – Technical Support to join our growing telecom operations team. This opportunity is best suited for candidates with knowledge of optical transmission technologies who are eager to work in a fast-paced, customer-focused technical environment.
The role involves providing continuous remote support to global clients, identifying network-related issues, and delivering effective solutions within defined service levels. Since the support model operates around the clock, candidates must be open to working rotational shifts, including weekends and late hours when required.
Core Responsibilities
Offer remote troubleshooting assistance via phone, email, and support platforms.
Investigate and resolve issues related to DWDM and OTN-based optical transport systems.
Monitor and interpret network alarms to detect and address faults efficiently.
Use internal lab setups and diagnostic tools to replicate and analyze technical problems.
Document findings clearly and escalate unresolved cases to advanced engineering teams.
Deliver on-site technical assistance when business needs demand.
Maintain accurate service records and update internal knowledge repositories.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure quick and effective issue resolution.
Travel domestically or internationally if required for project or support purposes.
Eligibility Criteria
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, Electronics, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
Strong conceptual understanding of SONET/SDH systems.
Practical knowledge of DWDM (Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing) and OTN (Optical Transport Network)
Familiarity with Carrier Ethernet technologies.
Basic understanding of fiber optic infrastructure and switching equipment.
Desired Skills
Clear communication skills for interacting with international customers.
Strong analytical and fault-isolation abilities.
Awareness of telecom industry standards and network architecture.
Ability to manage multiple technical cases efficiently.
Experience working with optical networking platforms is an added advantage.
Work Structure
This role follows a hybrid work pattern. Candidates located near the Gurugram office should be prepared to work from the office for the majority of the week, depending on operational requirements.
